Dr. Aisha Alkhaaldi is a Consultant in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Al Qassimi Women’s and Children’s Hospital in the United Arab Emirates, where she also serves as Head of the Infection Control Unit. In addition to her clinical and institutional leadership responsibilities, she is the Program Director of the Pediatric Residency Program within Emirates Health Services (EHS), contributing to the education, mentorship, and professional development of the next generation of pediatricians. She also holds adjunct clinical faculty appointments at the College of Medicine, University of Sharjah, and the College of Medicine, Ajman University.

Dr. Alkhaaldi earned her medical degree from the University of Sharjah and subsequently completed her pediatric residency training at Tawam Hospital in Al Ain, UAE. She became Arab Board certified in Pediatrics in 2017 and later pursued advanced clinical fellowship training through the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI).

Dr. Khoula Al-Said, BSc, MD, FAAP, FRCPC, is the Director of the Child Health Department at the Royal Hospital in Muscat, Oman, and a Senior Consultant in Pediatric Gastroenterology. She completed her medical degree at Sultan Qaboos University and pursued residency and fellowship training at Alberta Children’s Hospital, Canada.

Dr. Al-Said has held multiple leadership roles, including Head of the Pediatric Gastroenterology Unit and Chair of the Pediatric Residency Program at OMSB, where she helped achieve international accreditation. She also serves as President of the Oman Pediatric Society, leading national advocacy campaigns such as the “Aman” drowning prevention initiative and online pediatric learning series.

Dr. Abdusamea Shabani is a highly accomplished Pediatric Radiologist with over 30 years of experience, recognized for his expertise in clinical excellence and healthcare leadership. He has played a pivotal role in advancing radiology services in the UK and Qatar, notably pioneering Non-Contrast MRA for children in Europe for the first time. As Division Chief of Body Imaging and Acting Chair of Radiology at Sidra Medicine, Dr. Shabani introduced several groundbreaking initiatives, including holding international pediatric radiology conferences in Qatar promoting the State at international level, launching the first 3D printing for a child with congenital heart disease, reduced waiting lists, and integrating Artificial Intelligence into radiology. His leadership has expanded pediatric radiology services across institutions like Hamad General and Al Wakra hospitals.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Shabani holds an academic position at Weill Cornell Medical College and has made significant contributions to pediatric radiology research. Prof. Alfadhel is currently Deputy Executive Director of King Abdullah International Medical Research Centre (KAIMRC), Chairman of Genetics and Precision Medicine department and Director of Medical Genomic lab and Professor of Pediatrics and Genetics at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS).

He contributed to discovery of more than 70 novel genes and link it for the first time to a human disease, in addition, he discovered two syndromes, first one with with dysmorphic features, intellectual disability, and speech delay, which named Alfadhel syndrome due to a defect in RAP1GDS1 gene and other novel neurodevelopmental disease with poor or absent speech, dysmorphic facies, and behavioral abnormalities named Umair-Alfadhel Neurodevelopmental disorder due to a defect in NAV3 gene. Both registered in the OMIM database, the official website for all genetic disorders.

Additionally, he is founder and editor in chief of Journal of Biochemical and Clinical Genetics, Editorial board member of several other international journals. Authors of three books and one chapter in a book. Has more than 250 publications in high impact factor journals and more than 200 abstracts. He is supervisor and teachers for plenty of fellows, residents and medical students.

Dr. Dana Salman Al-Haqqan is a Consultant Pediatrician and currently serves as Head of the Pediatrics Department at Al-Sabah Hospital, Kuwait. She previously served as a Consultant Pediatrician at Jaber Al-Ahmad Hospital, where she was among the founding members of the Pediatrics Department.

Dr. Aya Abu-El-Haija completed her Pediatrics residency from Rutgers New Jersey, followed by Medical Genetics fellowship from UCSF. Khalid Hussain is the Division Chief of Pediatric Endocrinology at Sidra Medicine. He is responsible for establishing and developing the clinical endocrine and diabetes service. He leads a multidisciplinary team (consultant endocrinologists and diabetologists, insulin pump experts, endocrine nurses, diabetic educators and highly specialized dieticians) providing care for children with all endocrine conditions including diabetes. Specialist clinics for children with all types of diabetes are now established and children with diabetes are managed with the latest technological advances. His vision is to create a word class center for children with diabetes providing the highest standard of clinical care.

At Sidra Medicine, Dr. Hussain’s research focuses on understanding the epidemiology, biochemical and molecular mechanisms of childhood diabetes. His research is funded by Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) and Sidra Internal Research Fund (SIRF). Dr. Hussain is an internationally recognized expert in the field of childhood hypoglycemia and rare types of diabetes mellitus. Dr. Hussain qualified in Medicine from Glasgow University in Scotland UK and then trained in Neonatology, Metabolic medicine and Paediatric Endocrinology in London (Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital) and Australia (Monash Medical Center, Melbourne).

Dr. Alanoud Al-ansari is a pediatrician specializing in adolescent medicine with a focus on eating disorders, chronic illness, and youth mental health. She completed her specialty training in Adolescent Medicine at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada.

Dr. Khalid Al-Dasuqi is an Attending Physician in Pediatric Neuroimaging at Sidra Medicine and Associate Program Director of the Pediatric Radiology Fellowship. He is a board-certified diagnostic radiologist and diplomate of the American Board of Radiology with subspecialty certification in pediatric radiology. He joined Sidra Medicine in 2024, bringing a strong academic and clinical background in advanced pediatric imaging.

Dr. Al-Dasuqi earned his medical degree with academic distinction from Weill Cornell Medicine–Qatar and completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at Yale–New Haven Hospital/Yale School of Medicine, where he served as Chief Resident. He then pursued dual fellowships in pediatric radiology and pediatric neuroradiology at Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School.

His areas of expertise include pediatric neuro-oncology, brain malformations, fetal and neonatal imaging, and head and neck imaging. Dr. Al-Dasuqi is also passionate about imaging informatics, artificial intelligence in workflow optimization, and medical education, with more than 20 peer-reviewed publications and numerous international conference presentations.

Dr. Ahmed Al Hammadi is the Chair of Pediatric Medicine at Sidra Medicine. He is responsible for the leadership of the hospital’s medical staff, upholding its clinical excellence and patient safety programs and ensuring that patients receive safe and effective medical care.

Dr. Al Hammadi earned his MBChB (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) degree at Alexandria University, Egypt, in 1998. He completed two pediatric residencies, one at Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar, in 2003 and another in 2008 at British Colombia Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, Canada.

In 2010, Dr. Al Hammadi was awarded a fellowship in General Academic Pediatrics from the renowned Sick Kids Hospital, University of Toronto, Canada, and is a board-certified fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He is also the program director of Sidra Medicine’s pediatric fellowship and residency programs and assistant professor of pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine – Qatar. He served as the Executive Chair of Pediatric Medicine at Sidra Medicine preceding his appointment as Acting Chief Medical Officer.

In a previous role at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Qatar, Dr. Al Hammadi was the Chief of General Pediatrics and co-founded the hospital’s Professionalism Course and Workshops. He was appointed to the examination board of the Pediatrics Arab Board in 2011 and is a member of the American Academy of Paediatrics and Canadian Paediatrics Society. He is an international member of the Review Committee-International (RC-I) for Medicine-based programs and also reviews and makes recommendations on AGCME-I programs for the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.

Dr. Al Hammadi’s research interests include vaccines, urinary tract infections in children, pediatric medical education, and health promotion. He is actively involved in medical education and has led several workshops locally and internationally.

Dr. Eman A.Rahman Senan Al Maslamani is a Pediatric Infectious Diseases Senior Attending Physician at SIDRA Medicine, Doha, State of Qatar. She is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medical College-Qatar and Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatric at College of Medicine, Qatar University Dr. Eman the Program Director Pediatric Infectious Diseases Fellowship. She is also an Assistant Program Director of Pediatric Residency Program and Chairs its Assessment Committee.

Administratively, she is the Medical Director of the Infection Prevention & Control Sub-Committee and a member of several committees at Sidra Medicine. She represents Qatar and is an examiner of the Arab Board of Health Specializations (Pediatric).

Dr. Lama Saleh Aljomah is a Pediatric Neurology Consultant with a clinical and research interest in pediatric neuroimmunology and neuroinflammatory disorders. She completed her Pediatric Neurology training at King Abdullah Specialist Children’s Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, followed by a two-year Clinical Fellowship in Neuroinflammatory Diseases at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto, Canada.

Her clinical and academic interests include pediatric multiple sclerosis and acquired demyelinating disorders, autoimmune encephalitis, MOG antibody-associated disease, and other immune-mediated neurological conditions. Her research has focused on early recognition of autoimmune encephalitis, pediatric demyelinating disorders, neuroimaging outcomes in anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis, and therapeutic advances in pediatric multiple sclerosis.
